  • Description: KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- On Launch Pad 39B, STS-104 Commander Steven W. Lindsey (right) reaches for the lever that will send the slidewire basket he is in speeding to the landing field below. Seated behind Lindsey is Pilot Charles O. Hobaugh. They and other crew members are taking part in Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test activities, which include this emergency egress training and a simulated countdown exercise. The launch of Atlantis on mission STS-104 is scheduled July 12. The mission is the 10th flight to the International Space Station and carries the Joint Airlock Module and High Pressure Gas Assembly.
