SPACEHAB module is placed in payload canister in SSPF

  • Description: A worker in the Space Station Processing Facility checks the position of the SPACEHAB module as it is lowered into the payload canister below. The module, part of the payload on mission STS- 106, will be placed in the payload canister for transport to the launch pad. STS-106 is scheduled to launch Sept. 8 at 8:31 a.m. EDT. During the mission to the International Space Station, the crew will complete service module support tasks on orbit, transfer supplies and outfit the Space Station for the first long-duration crew.
