  • Description: The STS-86 crew prepares for departure from Kennedy Space Center following the practice launch countdown for their mission called the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT). The seven member crew will fly to the Russian Space Station Mir for the seventh docking of the Shuttle with the Russian orbiting outpost. Liftoff is targeted for Sept. 25.
