  • Description: STS-86 crew members undergo emergency egress system training at Launch Complex 39A during Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) activities. STS-86 will be the seventh docking of the Space Shuttle with the Russian Space Station Mir. After the docking, Wolf will transfer to the Mir 24 crew, replacing U.S. astronaut C. Michael Foale, who arrived there during the last docking mission, STS-85, in May. The STS-86 launch aboard Atlantis is targeted for Sept. 25.
