Description:
A new day dawns and preparations continue for a second launch attempt of the Mars Global Surveyor atop a Delta II 7925A expendable launch vehicle at Launch Pad 17A on Cape Canaveral Air Station. The first attempt yesterday, November 6, was scrubbed due to high winds aloft. The launch of the Surveyor will herald a new era of exploration of Mars, becoming the first in a new series of missions to gather more data about the Red Planet.
