Buildup of the Delta II that will carry into space the Mars Global Surveyor continues at Launch Complex 17A on Cape Canaveral Air Station, as workers install the nine solid propellant graphite epoxy motors around the first stage of the vehicle. The Surveyor is slated for liftoff during a 20-day launch period opening Nov. 6.
