    • Description: McDonnell Douglas employee Chris Jaskolka (right) shows STS-79 Mission Specialists Carl E. Walz (left) and Jay Apt the layout of the double SPACEHAB module. The double module configuration will be flown for the first time on Shuttle Mission STS-79, the fourth docking of the U.S. Shuttle to the Russian Space Station Mir. Doubling the pressurized mini-laboratory allows more supplies and equipment to be taken to Mir, while still allowing room for scientific research. McDonnell Douglas processes the SPACEHAB modules for prime contractor SPACEHAB Inc.
