STS-72 Commander Brian Duffy (right) and Mission Specialist Koichi Wakata arrive in Florida, looking forward to the first Shuttle flight of 1996. The six-member STS-72 crew is scheduled to lift off aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour on January 11 during an approximately 49-minute launch window opening at 4:18 am EST. They flew into KSC's Shuttle Landing Facility from Johnson Space Center, Houston, not too long after the countdown clock began ticking toward the 74th Shuttle liftoff.
