A veteran of three previous spaceflights, Thornton will soon head for Launch Pad 39B with six fellow crew members. Awaiting them is the Space Shuttle Columbia, scheduled to lift off on the sixth Shuttle flight of 1995 during a two and a half hour window opening at 9:41 a.m. EDT, Oct. 7.
