  • Description: Thiokol Corp. technician Scott Dornton works in the Vehicle Assembly Building to repair damage to the foam insulation of the Space Shuttle Discovery's external tank, caused by woodpeckers while the vehicle was at Launch Pad 39B. Discovery was rolled back from the pad to the VAB June 8 to allow access to approximately 195 holes caused by nesting Northern Flicker Woodpeckers. The STS-70 mission is now scheduled for liftoff July 13 at 9:41 a.m. EDT.
