Description:
The Shuttle Pointed Autonomous Research Tool for Astronomy-201 (SPARTAN-201) is lowered into the payload bay of the Space Shuttle Orbiter Endeavour in Orbiter Processing Facility (OPF) 1 to be integrated as one of the two primary payloads for the STS- 69 mission. The free-flying satellite will carry two experiments, the Ultraviolet Coronal Spectrometer and the White Light Choronagraph, that will gather data for approximately 52 hours after it is deployed from the orbiter. Also onboard Endeavour during the 11-day mission will be the Wake Shield Facility (WSF) free-flying experiment that will grow and process thin films for next-generation electronics hardware, as well as several secondary payloads. STS-69 is currently scheduled for launch in late July.
