Apollo 16 astronauts John W. Young, partially visible at left, and Charles M. Duke, Jr., foreground, prepare to enter the Saturn V spacecraft from the White Room high atop Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center. The third astronaut launched to the Moon today was Thomas K. Mattingly II, who, in this view, was waiting for crewmates to climb aboard the spacecraft before entering the small white room.
