Evans, center, and Harrison H. Schmitt. Cernan and Schmitt will explore the Moon's Taurus-Littrow region while Evans pilots the command module in lunar orbit. Apollo 17 is NASA's sixth and final manned lunar landing mission in the Apollo program.
