The spacecraft contains five geodetic instrumentation systems to provide simultaneous measurements that scientists require to establish a more precise model of the Earth's gravitational field, and to map a world coordinate system relating points on, or near the surface to the common center of mass. This will be the first launch for the improved Delta second stage. {highres} 1805 x 2275 {highsize} 494889 {hightype} JPEG {keywords} EXPLORER 29 SATELLITE,GEOS 1 SATELLITE,DELTA LAUNCH VEHICLE,LAUNCHES,LAUNCH COMPLEX 17A,SERVICE STRUCTURE {lowres} 190 x 240 {lowsize} 63227 {lowtype} GIF {mediumres} 609 x 768 {mediumsize} 52311 {mediumtype} JPEG {number} KSC-65P-0205 {orientation} vertical {othernumbers} 102-KSC-65P-205, P-18970, ARCHIVE-04099 {place} LAUNCH COMPLEX 17A, CCAS {slideres} 122 x 156 {slidesize} 27699 {slidetype} GIF {tinyres} 79 x 100 {tinysize} 11101 {tinytype} GIF {title} EXPLORER 29 [GEOS 1] SATELLITE LIFTS OFF FROM LAUNCH COMPLEX 17A ABOARD A DELTA LAUNCH VEHICLE {type} Image {view} exterior {end}
